The For the second week in a row, members of Local 814 engaged in an informational hand-billing campaign against the substandard competition. This time, we decided to aim our efforts at American Storage Transport, This company had been witnessed doing new furniture delivery at After the leaflets had started to be passed out, we found out that low-and-behold, AMERICAN WAS IN THE BUILDING! LOCAL 814 STRIKES AGAIN! Local 814 showed its might this week with informational hand-billing at an Integrated Business Solutions worksite. You will recall that Integrated is the artist formerly known as Dancker, Sellew & Douglas, who left 814 under mysterious circumstances in January 2006. The hand-billing took place the evening of April 10 th as well as the following morning, April 11 th at Goldman Sachs’ 85 Broad Street Headquarters. President George Daniello and members of the executive board were present for both sessions with a tremendous showing from the men. With this hard work and determination, Local 814 finally got a response from Goldman higher-ups. “We appreciate all the business Goldman Sachs gives to 814,” said President Daniello, “but we cannot allow Integrated, a runaway shop, continue to do our work and not pay the prevailing wages and benefits that we fought hard to establish. We would like to thank all who came out and showed their support. Without the rank-and-file, these efforts would be fruitless.” President Daniello expects to hear a response from Goldman Sachs on this issue in the near future.
